The Cape and Natal Study Circle is a group of philatelists and historians who are passionate about the stamps, postal history and historical events of the Cape of Good Hope, Natal and Zululand.
The March 2021 Journal includes from the Cape, some attractive postcards, followed by a further article on ‘The Earliest Recorded Picture Postcard used in Natal’ by Bram Leeflang, Keith Klugman and Roger Porter. A short article on the Natal pineapple after which there is a study of the beautiful but intriguing Bourne Heads issued by Griqualand West. …
Read MoreThe December 2020 Journal leads off with the first ever article on the First Canadian Contingent which arrived at Cape Town in late 1899 to join other British Empire troops in the Boer War. A very interesting article looks at soldiers’ correspondence and paints an intimate picture of how the War affected personal relationships.
